Mule deers afternoon!



Before we left we got some great photo ops in:


Then it was off hiking- the vegetation changed many times during our hike today.


Then we took a break for lunch-



Then we did an "Abbey Road" shot 



And some rock skipping on the lake:


Next was some science research- looking for clues to figure out when a fire happened in a certain part of the forest. We determined the age of trees and the fauna before hypothesizing how long ago the fire took place. 



Our two teachers from the school- Katie and Abbey:


More time studying the older forest and the effect of fire on the ecosphere.

We used charcoal to face paint- here Cooper channels his inner Mr. Jameson-


At the end of the day Katie read us Dr. Suess's "The Lorax" to sum up the day!


Tonight a night hike awaits the mule deer group- sorry no photos!
